Wowzers, this is quite a handsome industrial artifact. It is a handsome dark orange foundry mold with quite a bit of weathering (at one time I was using it as a base for one of my mosaic balls). It has a very pleasing eye shape, with a recessed circle in the middle. It is made up of curved sections mortised together. If repurposed, it has possibilities as lighting or furniture - perhaps a table with a light within, if a translucent something were placed in the recessed area. Or, use it as a dramatic display piece.
It's sizable- 21 inches from eye corner to eye corner, the recessed area is 14 3/4"across, and the inside cylinder is 10" across. It weighs about 9 pounds.The sale of this comes under the heading of this artist not being able to get to every single project she would like.
