This is a print of a 1930's matchbook advertising a restaurant (Fords Waffle Shop), that was located in Camden, New Jersey. It shows a smiling cook on the cover and a waitress on each match stick. This type of matchbook is called a "Feature" Matchbook, because of the wide matches that allowed designs to be printed on them. This one was a fine example from the that era.
Most people keep matchbooks in bowls or notebooks. I design mine so that they can be put on the wall and appreciated - since all sides can be seen at once. These handmade prints are made on my computer and available for your enjoyment with 11"x14" mats that are ready to be put into standard frames. The words "Matchbook Memories" do not appear in the print. Please be aware that the print colors may vary slightly due to differences in monitor color settings.
STYLE VARIATION OFFER: Some people have expressed a desire for a print of the cook's image only, instead of all three images (the front, back and inside of the matchbook). I can adjust my designs to focus only on the large image. It would come matted in an 11 x 14 inch white mat as the other prints do. Please let me know if you prefer this variation. It would take an extra day for me to adjust the design.
