"IV. APOTHECARY, 15th CENTURY" - Plate IV of XII, ...portrayed by the Swiss illustrator, Warja Honegger-Lavater, from authentic costume reproductions in the University of Rome's Institute of Medical History. This is one of a set of twelve prints released in a folder. The artist's signature was on the original plates and was reproduced on each print.
Wood-framed with double matting and hanging wire on back. frame is a bit scuffed, but i can redo it if you like. Some people prefer the wear.

This print came from the collection she did entitled "2300 years of medical costume : distinctive garb of the medical and related professions from the time of Hippocrates to the Napoleonic era" - North Chicago, Ill. : Abbott Laboratories, 1962.
If you do a search of her name it will take you on a wonderful journey. Her accordion-fold books have bee republished in France by Maeght Editions.
