I created this 12x9 Mixed Media Abstract in 2013. This is a nature inspired piece with colors of greens and browns with a microbiology transfer image (see closer view in photo no. 2). It is dated, signed, and titled "Patterned Thought" on the back of canvas (see photo no. 4). It is also dated and signed on the front in decorative signature of A.Daunis.
First, I painted the background a light green color and the sides of the canvas black. I then attached various fabrics that I painted colors of greens and browns. I also attached a microbiology transfered image that I painted brown and a bit of blue.
There are layers of fabrics attached to this piece and they are not trimmed off the sides. See photo no. 4 which shows the back where the fabrics have been wrapped around it. I like a raw look to my artwork so I don't usually trim off excess unless it's a minimalistic piece.
Please note that the color yellow next to my name, bottom left, is showing up a lot brighter than it is actually a muted color. I think the varnish may be reflecting in the photograph.
