Beautiful 1950s light ivory dress, made of a damask acetate taffeta, with beautiful slightly chinoiserie-inspired pattern stitched with thread that has a beautiful sheen to it . Short sleeves, full gathered skirt; fastens down back with metal zipper. Stunning rayon satin cumberbund sash detail that is attached at front waist and then can be fastened loosely or in a bow at back. Truly, just a dream of a vintage dress: would look even more dazzling if worn with a crinoline underneath (one is NOT included in the listing, however).
Approximate Measurements of garment (in inches):
Bust: 34-35, but the darts/shaping at bust seems to allow a touch more room; fit a 35.5" busted mannequin in the third and fourth images quite closely
Waist: to 26 (but drawn in smaller with sash): juuuuust zipped closed over 26.5" waist of mannequin in third image)
Hips: Full
Length: approx. 45" (shoulder to waist seam is about 11.5")
Condition: Excellent! On the whole, this dress is in beautiful, clean, and very very wearable condition. Only thing keeping it from mint: When steaming the skirt, I noticed a couple of very faint foxing spots on the skirt that all but lifted during cleaning, and a very subtle little area of repair that is easily lost in folds and fulness of skirt, and blends in with the damask pattern. Dress has been freshly laundered and is ultimately in WONDERFUL condition, especially for a light coloured dress that is 60 years old or so!! Still, like all items in my shop, this garment is sold AS IS and is a final sale, so please ask all questions and request any extra photos BEFORE purchase! Thank you!
