This matchbook assemblage is from The Big Top Restaurant that was in Sacramento California during the 1950's. The happy theme is a circus and clown. The matchbook is complete and in fine condition. It would look great in a kitchen and is an attractive bit of history - great for home decor.
Most people keep matchbooks in bowls or notebooks. I design matchbook displays/assemblages so that they can be put on the wall and appreciated - and all sides of the matchbook can be seen at once. The background designs are first made on the computer and printed out. My next step is to convert a frame to become a shadow box to hold the three dimensional matches. The print is then matted and the open matchbook is attached. The whole assemblage is placed into the shadow box and sealed closed.
The shadow boxes are 8 x 10 inches in size and have a saw-tooth hook on the back so they can hang on the wall.They make interesting and attractive decorations for dens, bars, kitchens and other areas of the home. However, since they contain old matches, there is a FIRE WARNING! DO NOT put them near open flames, fireplaces, heaters or other hot areas. Keep them away from children too.
The Copyright information does not appear on the Assemblage. The piece will be shipped in a box with lots of bubble packing to prevent breakage.
