The maker’s mark LJM © is in a cartouche on the back, which is the mark of Laurentian Jewellery Manufacturing which was established in Montreal in the 50s. The tree is featured on page 104 of Nancy Yunker Trowbridge’s book, Christmas Tree Pins.
This delightful little tree is small in stature, measuring just 1 7/8” high by 1 3/8” wide. Made of gold tone metal with 7 colored rhinestones plus a clear star, it consists of four textured and tiered layers which come out from the tree like full skirts. Overall it’s in very good vintage condition, especially for its several decades of existence. While the pin and clasp work and hold well, there is a little movement to it.
This simple mid century style captures simpler times. The pictures should provide greater perspective about the design and condition of this lovely 1950-60s Christmas tree pin.
