Up for your consideration is this VINTAGE large mug / soup / chili bowl, manufactured at the Marshall Pottery factory, in Marshall, Texas. The pattern is called "Spongeware." It is a beautiful pattern of blue & white with a high sheen glaze. The artist who "hand turned" this piece has signed their name... but your guess is as good as mine, as it is very hard to make out the name. Also, the style of the back stamp is indicative of this item being a very early version of Marshall Pottery's spongeware.... probably 1950's.
There is one teeny little rough spot, just a hairline, you cannot notice it, only if you feel it- about 1/8 inch on the edge of the handle. There is some obvious wear on the bottom of the piece, which you may examine in the pictures. Otherwise, this piece is in excellent condition.
I always like to point out that most items that are used, second-hand, or antique, usually do have minor conditions that come with use and age..... but most sellers do not always give full disclosure. As a seller, I feel that it is my responsibility to point out any flaws, or signs of use. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Don't miss out on your chance to obtain this amazing piece of Southern Americana!
Thanks for looking~
