Challinor, Taylor & Co. blue glass compote or fruit bowl in a stunning deep aqua blue was made in Pennsylvania in the late 1800s -- sometime between 1885 and 1893. Its intricate design is an open basket weave bowl atop a flared base.
Excellent condition. The blue milk glass color is breathtaking. This is a stunning 19th century example of Early American Pattern Glass or EAPG.
Note that the piece stands slightly crooked; other than this, there are no chips, cracks or issues. Measures 6-7/8" high, 8-3/4" diameter across. It's shown in the Collector’s Encyclopedia of Milk Glass, so is considered blue milk glass; you can see pale swirls of white in the pedestal base, photo four.
Ships in U.S. only, insured as always.
