A classic tarot deck, all 78 cards, 2 blank cards & instruction booklet. In very good vintage condition! The Rider-Waite Tarot deck is probably the most popular tarot deck in use today in the United States. Arthur Edward Waite designed the deck in collaboration with artist Pamela Colman Smith. It was first published in 1910 by Rider & Company, a London publisher. The deck for sale here is an example of the U.S. Games, Inc. version published in 1971.

The Rider-Waite tarot deck also has several variants. The deck for sale here is the regular English language version and measures 2 3/4" x 4 3/4". The printed cards have bright, clean colors and are really quite beautiful. They seem to have been used (from the slight discoloration of the edges you can see when stacked), but very well cared for. To be very specific, there is one 1/4" stain on the Chariot card, and 2-3 very light, small creases on other cards. The two blank cards show some discoloration. A 48 page instruction booklet is enclosed and is in good, structurally sound condition with a few dog-ears, creases and light discolorations on the cover pages, a few small dog-ears on the interior. The box is considerably worn and has had the top and bottom removed (probably for easy access to the cards).

Apologies for placing these in the Toys & Games shop section, but we are only allowed 10 sections in a store. Here is more information from the packaging: Complete 78-Card Waite Deck, 22 Major Arcana, 56 Lesser Arcana in full color. The original and only authorized edition of the famous 78-card Tarot Deck designed by Pamela Coleman Smith under the direction of Arthur Edward Waite. Reissued in collaboration with Miss Sybil Waite and Rider & Company, London. Printed in Switzerland by Muller & Cie. Complete with instruction booklet by Arthur Edward Waite and Forward by Stuart R. Kaplan.
